About me

I love working on projects that make a real difference in the construction industry and education. Some key highlights include: - Establishing a company to introduce building advice and project management services to the residential sector, improving quality and certainty without increasing cost. - Creating the concept and leading the development of a new Bachelor of Construction (Site Management) based on research focus groups across Auckland and Dunedin to ascertain industry preferred content and delivery methods, leading to a blended pathway for those with trades to diploma and degree with substantial assessment possible through evidence of workplace learning. - Working with TANZ eCamps to provide fully online options for all courses in the New Zealand Diploma in Construction with Strands in Construction Management and Quantity Surveying. - Leading the development of a new Bachelor of Construction (Quantity Surveying).

Why I became an Adjudicator

- Leading the development of the New Zealand Diploma in Construction with Strands in Construction Management and Quantity Surveying at Otago Polytechnic. - Developing the first standard form of pre-construction services agreement (PCSA) contract to support 2-stage early contractor involvement (2S-ECI) based on doctoral level research including document analysis, legal analysis and interviews across New Zealand. - Writing a number of journal articles and conference papers with a focus on clarifying buildability obligations and improving project performance through optimising the use of 2S-ECI. - Providing technical advice to the Adjudicator's Association of New Zealand (AANZ). - Providing strategic procurement advice to Antarctica for a major refurbishment of Scott Base.
